It was in the mid-1970’s when Marty caught the interior design bug. She had no idea that renovating her old English Tudor home in North Dallas would become a career. While raising three children, Marty spent those rare spare moments transforming her house into a wonderful, charming home.
That’s all it took. She went back to college and graduated with a degree in interior design. After spending two years working with another designer and learning everything she could about the practical side of interior design, Marty started her own business. Today, she works with clients locally and nationally, helping them create a vision that reflects their interests and their lifestyle.
“My philosophy is to take what people already have and make it look great,” said Marty. “I often start with little things, like rugs, and from there we discover what the clients like. I once designed a whole interior from a single painting. The client loved it and everything we did came from that one painting – the color palette, the fabric choices, the draperies, even the antiques we purchased.”
Over the past two decades, Marty has won numerous design awards and professional accolades and has been chosen to work on more than a few prestigious homes and commercial projects. But one thing that hasn’t changed is her enthusiasm for interior design.
“I just love it. Every project is new to me. It’s a fresh start to do something great for my clients and help them to express their creative side. You’d think that after doing the same thing for 25 years it would get old – but for me – I’m as passionate about it as I ever was. I plan to be still doing this when I’m 90.”
